The function of the filter housing
Protective filter element:
The outer shell serves as the filter element’s external protective layer, preventing it from being contaminated or damaged by external environmental factors—such as dust and moisture—thus ensuring that these elements do not enter the filter element’s interior and compromise its filtration performance.
In high-pressure or high-temperature environments, the housing can withstand pressure and temperature, protecting the filter element from damage and ensuring the proper operation of the filter.
Support and secure the filter element:
The interior of the housing is equipped with filter element support structures, such as filter element seats and filter element racks, which securely hold the filter element in place and prevent it from shifting or deforming during the filtration process.
The supporting structure can also distribute the pressure exerted on the filter element, thereby extending its service life.
Form a filtration chamber:
The housing and the filter element together form a filtration chamber, where the medium is filtered through the filter element to achieve solid-liquid separation or gas-solid separation.
The design of the filtration chamber ensures uniform distribution of the medium during the filtration process, thereby improving filtration efficiency.
Connecting and securing the filter:
The housing is equipped with components such as inlet and outlet ports and connecting flanges, making it easy to connect and secure the filter to the piping system.
By using appropriate connection methods, such as threaded connections and flange connections, it is possible to ensure that the filter will not leak or become loose during operation.
Adapt to different application scenarios:
Depending on the specific application scenario and filtration requirements, the material, structure, and dimensions of the housing can be customized.
For example, in the food industry, the housing must be made of materials that meet food-grade standards to ensure the filter’s safety and hygiene. In the chemical industry, the housing must exhibit excellent corrosion resistance to meet the filtration requirements for corrosive media.
